STITCHING JAPANESE SASHIKO ON A DOT GRID with Susan Briscoe     

60-minute workshop – cost £20.00

Hitomezashi (one stitch sashiko) can be stitched on a fabric with a grid of dots – it looks a bit like journalling paper! Learn an easy pattern to stitch and get more ideas for using this handy fabric. Suitable for sashiko beginners.

All materials provided for you to stitch a 10cm sashiko coaster panel – 5mm dot sashiko fabric square, sashiko needle and sashiko thread, all genuine Olympus sashiko products from Japan - plus an extra piece of fabric to have another go at home.

Advisory Note:

Suitable for sashiko beginners to advanced – anyone who wants to try stitching ‘dot to dot’. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Meet the Tutor

Susan Briscoe became hooked on Japanese sashiko stitching after working as the junior high school assistant English teacher in Yuza-machi, northern Japan. The hitomezashi (one stitch sashiko patterns) of that region are her favourites.
