60-minute workshop – cost £20.00

 
Attendees will make a small needle-case, decorated front and back with Chicken Scratch embroidery – a technique for embroidering on gingham fabric that is believed to have originated in the United States. It uses very simple stitches – mostly Smyrna Cross Stitch and Running Stitch – to create lace like patterns. Fabric, thread and needles will be supplied.  

Advisory Note: 
Suitable for beginner stitchers as well as more advanced over the age of 16.

Meet the Tutor
Penny Hill
Penny Hill is currently the Deputy Chair of the Embroiderers’ Guild.  She’s an experienced embroiderer and enjoys experimenting with both old and new techniques. The Embroiderers’ Guild is an Educational Charity dedicated to educating people of all ages about the world of embroidery – from the sheer pleasure of stitching to the design, creativity and production of unique inspirational works.
