SCULPTURAL FREE-MOTION EMBROIDERED MINI HOOP with Ruth Parkinson-Johns - Thursday 13th March 2025 - 12.30pm
Thursday 13th March 2025-Sunday 16th March 2025
NEC, Birmingham
90-minute workshop – cost £28.00
During this workshop you will create a beautiful background by trapping layers of fibres and fabrics between water-soluble stabiliser and net. This will be stitched together by creating patterns with free-motion embroidery.
The sculptural elements will be worked on separately, by using free-motion embroidery to create patterned shapes of different sizes, onto water-soluble stabiliser.
Please note: It may be necessary to take these elements home with you, to wash out the stabiliser and form your structures, which when dry, can be stitched onto your background cloth.
Ruth will provide clear instructions on how to complete the process and construct your sculptural embroidery at home.
All materials provided.
Advisory Note:
Suitable for those of all levels of experience.
Some knowledge of using a sewing machine would be useful. Sorry no under 16’s.
