Join Silver Clay Master Artist and Tutor, Tracey Spurgin, as she guides you through the fabulous techniques of creating fine silver jewellery. 


You will be guided, step-by-step, to create this adorable pendant piece. The three-dimensional form is created using dry construction methods. 


While this class is aimed at the beginner, it will also appeal to those seeking to elevate their basic silver clay skills to new heights. 


The only thing participants should remember to bring is reading glasses (if they use them) or an Optivisor for close detailed work.

What Will You Learn?  
•    Creating component parts
•    Perfect piercing for the panels
•    Creating hand-formed texture
•    Using moulds to create additional decorative elements and embellishments
•    Making and fitting a functioning swing bail
•    Creating a replica leaf
•    Dry construction of all the elements to a complete piece
•    Firing times and temperatures
•    Polishing and finishing

Full day Academy workshop tickets include: 
•    Lunch and refreshments throughout day.
•    All materials and equipment required. 
•    Complementary ticket to visit the main show on another day.

Meet the Tutor
Tracey Spurgin
Tracey is a Senior Art Clay Instructor with 20+ years' experience teaching out of her own Craftworx studio in E. Yorks as well as around UK and internationally. She runs online courses where you can learn at your own pace at home. She has written 120+ tutorial projects for national magazines and international metal clay guilds.
Tracey loves to challenge herself and work on projects that she considers to be almost engineering in clay. Hinges and lockets and threaded vessels are something that fascinates her. So she will spend days, weeks and months on troubleshooting problems and ideas until she finds a solution. She is passionate about sharing her discoveries and the joy of metal clay.
