CONE FILLED WILLOW STAR MASTERCLASS with Rachel Harwood - Thursday 30th October 2025 - 9.30am

During this fun workshop you will be using British grown willow and foraged cones to create a natural chunky star for the autumn and winter season. Perfect as it is or decorated with fairy lights.
All the materials will be supplied on the day but if you have any special foraged cones you would like to bring along to include in your make then please bring them along.
No prior weaving experience is needed
Under Rachel’s guidance you will:
• Learn how to create a strong star outline and weave an initial base.
• Learn how to build up the layers with cones and weave another layer.
• Find all about the lifecycle and processing of willow.
• Gain advice on aftercare.
• Obtain lots of individual help, with the opportunity to ask all your questions.
• Learn all about the tools and how you can progress your weaving skills at home.
Half-day Academy Masterclass tickets include:
A complimentary ticket for you to visit the main show on Thursday afternoon, plus all equipment, materials and consumables.
Important Note:
This workshop is suitable for adults only and is suitable for any level of experience but a degree of hand strength is required to get the best out of the workshop.
Meet the Tutor
Rachel Harwood
Rachel has been weaving with willow for over 10 years, originally from a horticultural background she now used those influences to create beautiful natural sculptures for the garden, often using foraged materials to weave into her creations.
Rachel loves to teach, passing on her practices and inspiring people on the use and beauty of natural materials to reconnect with the natural world.
