During this workshop you will be introduced to the addictive art of free motion embroidery – drawing with a sewing machine.
You will learn a variety of patterns, which can be used for adding texture and detail to embroidery or quilting. You will also learn how to create small images of leaves and flowers and finish with a stitched portrait. Hints and tips on threads, fabrics, needles and more will be shared at the workshop.
Advisory Note:
This workshop is suitable for all, including children over 10 years if accompanied by an adult.
Meet the Tutor
Jan Tillett
Jan is a Devon based textile artist and tutor. Her work is inspired by the natural and built environment. Her recent work involves the use of a variety of fabrics, which are stitched, manipulated, painted and printed. Experimentation is key to her work and she encourages participants in her workshops to explore a range of techniques.
