REALISTIC NEEDLE FELTED HARE with Joan Moncrieffe (aka Prowse) ALL DAY MASTERCLASS

Thursday 14th March 2024 - Sunday 17th March 2024

NEC, Birmingham

Join talented needle felt artist Joan Moncrieffe in this fabulous masterclass to create a beautiful realistic 3D hare, standing 24cm tall. This is an unmissable opportunity to learn her techniques and get individual attention for one day only to create a realistic hare.

The day will be crammed with technique tuition and will be different to any other hare-making workshop you may have done previously.

The degree of realism is achievable within the time frame; participants will learn how to work from a photograph to create a 3D animal, work with wire armature, create fine limbs, develop shading and shaping; how to achieve thin realistic ears, add glass eyes and whiskers and much more.

Full day Academy Masterclass tickets include:

Lunch and refreshments throughout day, plus a boxed kit with all essential materials and tools supplied.

Academy workshop tickets also include a Complementary ticket to visit the main show on another day.

Important Note – Please read before booking:

Participants must have some needle felting experience (preferably some 3D, but not necessarily with an armature) – Joan will not be teaching basic needle felting techniques, as this is a masterclass.

Meet the Tutor

Joan Moncrieffe B.A. (aka Prowse)

Joan is a multi-media artist based in Devon. Having spent time living and exhibiting in France, she returned to the UK and became a regular exhibitor with the ICHF Events. Her three-dimensional design degree skills were put to work to pioneer large 2D/3D needle-felted animal portraits and she is perhaps best known for her original creation of “Peace in the Valley” (the Lion and Lamb) back in 2013.

Since then she has gained a reputation as an expert in needle felting both as a tutor and artist. In recent years she has decided to spend time away from the shows to hone her skills focusing on commission work and her own artwork selling through galleries. Joan now teaches occasional three-day masterclasses with participants coming from all over the world to take part.

Advisory Note:

Suitable for ages 16+ (see experience requirements above)

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable

Entry passes and special dietary info request to follow in a separate email.

* Show times are subject to change. Please check the ICHF Events website for up to date timings.
