You will use a pre-printed floral base cloth that has been created specifically for your stitching, using Acrylic paint and a Fabric medium.
Using free-motion embroidery you will add a sense of movement and depth to the flowers. The 3D elements are overlaid on top of the flowers create the illusion of more flowers than there actually are, giving the piece a sense of endless blossoming.
In this workshop you will learn how to create flower petals using free-motion embroidery, which you will trace onto Aquafilm. The Aquafilm will be laid over layers of organza and netting and then, stitched to create 3D elements.
Once the Aquafilm has all been removed, your flowers are ready for distressing and stitching onto the printed floral background.
